Why We Built This Site
Massachusetts gives the public broad access to court records, but the system is split by department rather than by county. Superior Court handles serious felony and major civil cases. District Court runs misdemeanors, smaller civil claims, traffic, and small claims at five Hampden County locations. The Probate and Family Court keeps divorce, estate, and guardianship files. Housing Court handles evictions. Add the Sheriff's Office, the Registry of Deeds, the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services for CORI, and federal courts, and the picture gets crowded fast. This site brings the contacts, portals, and request steps together so a visitor can move from the right starting page to the right office quickly.
What You Will Find Here
- Records pages by type: court records, arrest records, inmate records, warrant records, marriage and divorce, probate, and more.
- Office contacts: direct information for the clerk of court, the Superior Court, the Register of Probate, and major facilities.
- Search walkthroughs: step-by-step guides for MassCourts and statewide databases.
- Public records help: how to file an open records request and what to expect for response time.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to any Massachusetts court, clerk's office, sheriff's office, or state agency. There are real limits to what this site can help with:
- This site cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf.
- This site cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record.
- This site cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you.
- This site cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed here is current right now.
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. This site can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep the site free for visitors. This site does not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.
Keeping Information Current
Clerk offices move. Hours change. Phone numbers get reassigned. This site updates pages as changes come in, but gaps happen. Before any drive to a Hampden County courthouse, call ahead first.
